Forgotten Language

Once I spoke the language of the flowers,
Once I understood each word the caterpillar said,
Once I smiled in secret at the gossip of the starlings,
And shared a conversation with the housefly
in my bed.

Once I heard and answered all the questions
of the crickets,
And joined the crying of each falling dying
flake of snow,
Once I spoke the language of the flowers. . .

How did it go?
How did it go?

by Shel Silverstein

A poem introduced to
:iconthemindlessjamieface: by her Brie Bear.
It shall remain as theirs, always.

WHERE IS MY FLYING CAR
Photobucket />
Photobucket />

really
two thousand freekin nine

when i was a kid
i figured by this
far flung date
i would be driving
a flying car.

and fins
old caddy style
what ever happened
to that?

by now i should
be driving a huge
atomic flying car
with great elvis-sized
batmobile fins

obutwell
think about it
one day 2009 will
seem far away

the cars will look funny
the music will seem dated
you will really change
but you really dont

everything is always the same
only different

granted we all should
make another year

gain more knowledge
every day

and daily

apply
our knowledge
as wisdom

happy new year
 phooty

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM JIMBOB THE SNOWMAN

Sun Dec 14, 2008, 10:39 AM
no not frosty

he was cool
round
fat
jolly

and
standing a good
six foot tall

its like ice skating on lakes
and snowmen things like this
just doesnt happen in east texas

it hardly get cold enough
long enough
to kill the bugs off

JIMBOB THE SNOWMAN

he was puny

about the size
of a breadbox

but
we were very proud of him

it never snows in east texas
but the other night it came down
in big (for us)quarter sized flakes

this is about all the snowman
we could muster
jimbob the snowman

i wanted to get snowed in
and cabin fever and all that
but

after we woke up to a white yard
the sun came out and it
pretty much melted
and

today three days later
it will be in the seventies

even so

now
it does feel very christmassy
